Grenache

Blewitt Springs
2017 Grenache
13.5%ABV

I’ve always been a big bold wine kind of guy. Grenache is one of those grapes that bridges the gap between people who enjoy delicate fruit forward cooler climate reds and those who want big spicy tannins from inky black liquid. With this wine, I hoped to try and create something for both. Extended skin contact and wild fermentation on one third whole bunches provides this balance.

Unfiltered and unfined, this Grenache has the aroma and flavour of a much bigger varietal. Deep red berries dominate the nose with hints of plum. Mouthfeel is very light upfront, with some oily slickness lingering. Oak and spice provide a drying finish.
